On the West Coast, in the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, near the small fishing village of Paternoster, right on the shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean, lies The Beach Camp™. Bury your toes in the sand, while sipping a refreshing drink, staring over the ocean at day, and at the camp fire at night. With comfortable bedded Twin Tents and A frame huts, all the necessary camping gear and great seafood dinners, camping doesn’t get much better than this. The Beach Camp™ offers you unique accommodation and an unforgettable West Coast experience. We have communal ablutions, fireplace and kitchen, typical of backpackers.
We have no electricity…. now we know right now you could be hyperventilating at the though, however it is possible to live without it. We’ve gotten so used to this fact that we may forget to remind you about it. Come join us and Rough it in comfort at The Beach Camp™.
Accommodation
The camp is well protected against the wind and shade is plentiful in the lapa area to protect you against sunburn. Here you can enjoy a refreshing Yerba Maté at the first Yerba Maté bar in Africa. Being in a Nature Reserve, no pets or electronic music is allowed amongst other reserve rules.
Accommodation consists of four cozy wooden A-frame huts with beds that can accommodate 2 people each. In addition we also have 6 comfortable Twin Tents with two single beds in each plus one 3-Man Tent with a double and a single bed in it. We have an equipped communal kitchen tent with all the necessary pots, pans and all other utensils for braais (barbeques) etc.
The Beach Camp™ has a licensed bar, that is exclusively for residents. We do however understand that not everyone enjoys box wine - if you want to bring your own bottle of wine you can – we charge a corkage fee per 750ml.
Ablutions include hot showers, eco-friendly toilets, hand basin and even a mirror for the ladies. We are not dependent on electricity nor wish to be. Have a look at the list under FAQ of what to bring along.
